New York in Boston

Jared and my friend, Alison, gave a lively tour of “New York Streets” today. What was special is that it wasn’t lofty and academic; it was in the plain-spoken language the South End residents (mostly now gone) would have used. There was no whitewashing. How can you summarize an entire neighborhood over two centuries? You can’t; so you show it as a patchwork of voices - some grating, some poetic, some ghostly. What’s whole is the place.https://reclaiminghistoryboston.org/en-us?fbclid=IwY2xjawU5zQhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBwZG9mBXNydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR5nz48Ad1WyZgnO3zhO1jH7IrVa2i5CRwQwxlRGh_A2Fkx0c-aknyMFD_Ep5w_aem_NLuFwUKIUP-vBndbd89XoA
